A Case of Cystic Lymphangioma of the Back




Abstract
Lymphangioma is a tumor which is composed of lymph vessels and spaces containing lymph. It consists of endothelial cells and supporting tissue elements of the lymphatic system which are involved in neoplastic process. Lymphangioma of the back is
one of
the extremly rare tumor and only a few cases were reported in the literature. Cystic lymphangioma are found chiefly in the neck but may also occur in the axilla and retroperitoneum. Grossly the cysts are thin walled and multiloculated. In the
present
study, 96 percent of the lesions were noted in the first year of life. The results of treatment vary according to the size of the lesion and the site. If the best results are to be obtained. Early and extensive complete surgical excisional
therapy
is
recommanded. We report a case of huge cystic lymphangioma of the back area in 36 years old male patient operated, and reviewed the patient literatures.
